Looking for facilities for Reverse Engineering in Once Human? In the Manibus scenario, you’ll find the highest density of cultural artifacts and large generators around the Blackfell area. For The Way of Winter, high-tier tech artifacts like Backpack Expansions and advanced benches are primarily found in northern settlements like the Hiverail Restricted Area. Use an Advanced Recycling Tool to harvest them.
How Does the Tech Research Workbench’s Reverse Engineering Function?
The Tech Research Workbench's Reverse Engineering lets you collect items out in the world and break them down to learn their recipe, formula, or blueprint instead of spending Tech Points to unlock it outright. The catch is finding the item in the first place, and that part changes depending on which scenario you are in.
How to Use This Database
Search by item name, material, or location to pull up everywhere something has been found. Filter by scenario to see only what applies to Manibus or only what applies to Way of Winter, especially useful if you already know which one you are playing and do not want to scroll past locations that will not help you. Filter by category to browse by Tech Tree tab, since each item's Tech Points live under a specific tab like Survival, Production, Combat, Build, or Exclusive.
Each card lists a single item with its location broken out by scenario, since the same item can hide somewhere different depending on where you are playing. Where a crafting formula has been confirmed, that is listed too, right above the location breakdown.
The pink badge on each card shows the Tech Points you receive for reverse engineering that item, not a cost. That number tells you how much reverse engineering it is actually worth, useful if you are deciding which items are worth tracking down first.
A Note on Sourcing
A good portion of the Manibus data in this database started from the Reddit community, specifically the Reverse Engineering Tech Points List shared in r/OnceHumanOfficial. From there, I’m checking every entry, updating, and expanding through direct gameplay. I’m adding new items as I find and confirm them.
I’ve been building The Way of Winter locations from scratch, since almost nothing detailed exists for that scenario anywhere online yet.
