Momento v1.1 Is Out Now and It's a Big One
Developed by Fat Alien Cat and Nomo Studio and published by Silver Lining Interactive, the cozy decorator Momento has received its first major content update. Version 1.1 is available now as a free update across Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The update adds over 70 new puzzles, expands Creative Mode with new environments, and introduces a level select hub that opens up the game's branching narrative in a meaningful way.
The game has already earned widespread praise for its emotionally resonant storytelling and relaxed pace, debuting in the Top 30 on the Nintendo Switch 2 charts at launch. This update builds on that foundation considerably.
What's New
The headlining addition is the Wall of Memories, a level select and completionist hub that lets players revisit any discovered room at any time. From there, players can uncover alternate narrative realities, solve previously missed puzzles to hit 100% completion, and see direct visual connections between chosen items and branching story outcomes. For a game built around the idea that your decorating choices shape a life, being able to trace those threads back is a genuinely smart addition.
Creative Mode has also been expanded with four new backdrop environments: Suburban, City, Space, and Rural. These give players considerably more range when it comes to expressing their design sensibility outside of the core story. Paired with that, the update introduces 70 new interactable puzzles and fresh alternate room layouts for early-life chapters, so revisiting the game's earlier sections feels like new ground rather than familiar territory.
On the quality-of-life side, load times on lower-end devices and handheld consoles have been significantly improved, which will matter most to Switch players. New Font Scale settings have been added for item story notes and text messages, and the narrative now features visual cues that draw star-guided paths from notes to keepsake boxes, making the storytelling easier to follow at a glance.
What Momento Actually Is
If you haven't played it yet, Momento is a narrative decorating game where the items you choose to place in a space directly influence the protagonist's future. The experience spans a lifetime, watching environments evolve from childhood through adulthood across two distinct play styles: Story Mode for the emotional journey and Creative Mode for players who want to focus purely on design. Puzzles are woven into the environments rather than bolted on, and the whole thing is built around a sense of quiet reflection. It fits comfortably alongside other games focused on player housing and space customization as a genre that keeps finding new ways to make personal spaces feel meaningful.
Fat Alien Cat and Nomo Studio is a three-person Australian collaboration between two studios, bringing together backgrounds in games, visual effects, animation, narrative, and technical art. Momento is available now on all platforms listed above, with the physical edition available through Silver Lining Direct.
