Moonlight Peaks Wants You to Embrace Your Inner Goth This July
XSEED Games and Little Chicken Game Company have announced that their upcoming supernatural life sim Moonlight Peaks is coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Windows PC via Steam, and Google Play Games on July 7, 2026. Moonlight Peaks made its latest appearance at Wholesome Direct 2026, where a new trailer dropped alongside some genuinely exciting news: a free demo is available right now on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch via the eShop.
The demo gives prospective residents a taste of what undead small-town life actually looks like, including character creation, magical mini-games, and early interactions with the town's colorful cast. If you've been on the fence, this is a solid low-stakes way to see whether Moonlight Peaks is your kind of haunt.
What is Moonlight Peaks?
You play as a vampire who has just moved into a family-owned haunted cottage in the titular town, with one goal: prove to your skeptical father that compassion and community are possible, even in the afterlife. The town itself is packed with werewolves, witches, mermaids, and other creatures of the night, all with their own stories connected to the history of seven families who call Moonlight Peaks home.
Think cozy farming sim meets gothic romance, with a generous helping of magic layered on top.
What You Can Actually Do In the Game
The feature set here is impressively wide. On the farming side, you'll tend enchanted crops, raise magical livestock, and develop your gothic homestead from a forgotten plot into a proper sanctuary. Tools unlock over time, and the property grows alongside your investment in it.
Beyond the farm, there's fishing, foraging, potion-crafting, embroidery, and flower arranging, and for the competitive-minded, a collectable card game called Nokturna that you can play against town residents. Magic runs through all of it: shapeshifting opens up different areas of the world, while a growing grimoire of spells provides both farming advantages and resource-gathering benefits.
Romance is also a major thread. There are two dozen romanceable characters in the game, and the dating mechanics lean into the supernatural setting rather than sanding it down into something generic.

Standard edition pricing comes in at $34.99 for Nintendo Switch and $39.99 for Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders on Nintendo platforms in the Americas are live now with a 15% early discount applied automatically. That discount expands at launch to cover Nintendo platforms in the Americas as well as PC and Google Play Games globally for the first seven days. Players who purchase the Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 version via an Upgrade Pack at launch for an additional $5.00.
Moonlight Peaks is developed by Amsterdam-based Little Chicken Game Company and rated T for Teen on consoles and mobile. The PC release is currently unrated. European publishing is handled by Marvelous Europe.
